The Franco-German trio BLONOVO consists of Frédéric Blondy (piano), Alex Nowitz (voice, live electronics/strophonion) and Sabine Vogel (flutes). In this formation, they made their public debut in 2014 at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. The trio now presents its program, Figures Erronées.

BLONOVO is committed to the continual expansion of its expressive vocabulary and the sonic possibilities of its instruments. Drawing on an improvisational practice based on attentive listening, responsive interaction, and the creative transformation of sound, Blondy, Nowitz, and Vogel focus on the mutual interpenetration of their individual sonic materials.
One of their methods is Nowitz’s vocal-instrumental Sound Dance practice. Using gesture-controlled live electronics, he captures not only his own vocal sounds but also the sounds of the other instruments in real time during the performance, transforming and reintroducing them into the musical process. The result is a series of sonically and visually unexpected constellations that challenge our perception, often conditioned by normative expectations. It is precisely these “crazy, erroneous figures” to which the program title Figures Erronées refers.
