An energetic, transcendent, and contemporary approach – Marina Mello and Lucas Niggli explore, through the harp and drums, a moment of improvised dialogue and presence on stage. Marina, classically trained, and Lucas, a jazz and contemporary percussionist, come together to create something that cannot be defined by style, but rather experienced in its full potential. Zurich-based artist Martina Berther has been exploring and expanding the sonic potentials of her electric bass for years. Within her live practice, she improvises sets, employing pedals, preparations, additional objects, and unconventional playing techniques. From drones to crunchy rhythmic noise and almost elegiac sounds, Berther ventures into the untapped territories of her instrument, traveling through the strange limbo between the abstract and the concrete.
In addition to her work as a solo musician, she tours with her genre-anarchic bands Ester Poly and AUL, as well as with the singer Sophie Hunger, and writes music for films, theaters, and installations.
