A special improvised session by Morphine Records artists Rully Shabara and DJ Die Soon. Against a backdrop of improvisation and twisted imagination, DJ Die Soon’s horror- and manga-inspired dystopian landscapes are populated by characters created through Rully Shabara’s explorations of the human voice. A unique encounter with an open ending, like the cliffhanger in your favorite recurring nightmare.

RULLY SHABARA
explores the human voice as a medium of creation and language as a tool for experimentation. Among his many concept-based projects, he is best known as the vocalist of the Indonesian avant-garde duo Senyawa (“an act untethered from any obligation to tradition,” according to Bandcamp Daily) and as the co-founder of Kombo Lab, Indonesia’s first platform for free improvised music. Rully uses his voice as a resource to explore primal expression, constantly experimenting to expand the potential of each of his projects.

DJ DIE SOON
alias Daisuke Imamura is a musician, DJ, illustrator, and manga artist. Obsessed with horror themes, he creates an artistic universe by weaving demon masks, manga, and other elements of Japanese culture into his drawings and music. He throws hip-hop-inspired freak beats over bleak, desolate landscapes. Tough, deranged, and fascinating. Rully appears on three tracks from DJ Die Soon’s latest album, My Brothel The Wind.
