Bustos+Galay was formed in 2016 with the purpose of developing composition processes in real time through the dialogue between free improvisation and its eclectic individual influences. In their first presentation as a duo in Berlin, they are going to present a new work called “AMAPOLA”.

Mariana Carvalho will play with pre-recorded materials using transducers, a small speaker and her internal listening perspective.

Zach Hart will share new work.

Javier Bustos is an artist, composer, performer and professor from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His work explores poetics of listening and sound production through the use of new media and low tech technologies, operating between experimental music, installation and the scenic-multimedial arts.

Julián Galay is an “undisciplinary” composer working with sound, image and language in different mediums as concerts, performances, installations, books and films. He often explores the unconscious of architectural spaces and scientific institutions through personal diaries, dreams and archives.

Mariana Carvalho is a musician, performer and sound artist from São Paulo, based in Berlin. She works with her body, interactions and limits between bodies, mostly through sound, voice, vibration and technological mediation. Collaboration is a big part of her work, most lately happening in the fields of dance and performative arts.

Zach Hart is an artist based in Berlin. His background as an experimental filmmaker influences his method of working with hybrid formats involving sound, live performance, video, and installation. His more recent works are most similar to experimental lectures. They often are collaborations revolving around ideas of simultaneous presence, distance and the construction of space.
